There is no doubt, if you are on this site, then you love cool shit. One of the best ways to get the cool shit we talk about is ordering it online. Amazon has become one of the leaders of the online ordering industry. I am here to break down Amazon Prime and show why you need to become a member.
So for those of you who don’t know, Amazon Prime is a membership offered by Amazon for $99 a year. With this membership you get free 2 day shipping on qualifying orders, Prime Music, and Prime Instant Video. So lets break this down.
First, you get 2-day free shipping on qualifying orders. What this means is you have to order something from a vendor with the Amazon Prime emblem by it. Surprisingly, several vendors do this already. When you search for product, just click the Amazon Prime filter and those results will show up first. That $99 yearly fee can be broken down into $8.25 a month for 2 day shipping on all products. With birthdays, holidays, special events and just wanting new stuff, you can justify $8.25 for 2 day shipping. But there is more…
Prime Music is a streaming music service with NO ads. It allows you to build playlist, radio stations and on demand music. If you go back to the $8.25 a month for a$99 yearly subscription to Amazon Prime, the Prime Music subscription almost pays for that vs the competition. Just to name a few other streaming sites with monthly subscriptions and ad free streaming; Apple Music $9.99, Spotify $10, Rhapsody $9.99, Pandora One $4.99 and Tidal $9.99. With the numbers in front of you, the only cheaper alternative is Pandora One, but Pandora does not offer all of the features Prime Music offers.
The other benefit to an Amazon Prime membership is Prime Instant Video. Prime Instant Video is a video streaming platform for TV shows and movies. You can stream them on your computer for no additional cost or purchase the Amazon Fire Stick for a one time $39 cost to stream Prime Instant Video on your TV. If you are already a member of Hulu or Netflix you are paying $7.99 a month for streaming vs the $8.25 a month for an Amazon Prime membership. But with Amazon Prime you are getting so much more than TV.
To recap; Amazon Prime gives you 2 day free shipping on most items, Prime Music is slightly less monthly than most music streaming services, and Prime Instant Video is slight more expensive than the two largest video streaming companies. When you put all this together there is no doubt that Amazon Prime is worth the cost!
