Nintendo NES Classic Edition

Nintendo NES Classic Edition

If you have not heard the word, Nintendo is releasing a remake of their classic Nintendo NES on 11/11/2016. The new Nintendo NES Classic Edition will have 30 games pre loaded for play and cost $59.99 per Nintendo’s website. No need to blow into the cartridge before you put in the game, just plug the Nintendo NES Classic into your TV and get ready to play. seems to be the best place to get news on the sale of the Nintendo NES Classic.

The game console will come with 1 classic controller and you can buy an additional controller at $9.99. Your old Nintendo NES controller will not work on the newly updated controller ports, but your Wii Classic Controller  ($49.99) or Wii Classic Controller Pro ($52.99) will work on the Nintendo NES Mini. We have not heard any official reports yet but we are assuming the Nintendo NES Classic remote will work on the Wii Classic games since they have the same controller ports. The Nintendo NES Classic Edition will have a HUGE update over the older version. The Nintendo NES Classic Edition will have the ability to save your game during play! No more starting over every time you turn it on.

As we said before, the Nintendo NES Classic Edition will come 30 games. It does not appear to have a USB, or other data cord port, to allow for future updates and downloads. So we will be stuck with the 30 pre-selected games. Sadly, Duck Hunt and Contra did not make the cut. Here is the list of the 30 games the Nintendo NES Classic will come with:

  • Balloon Fight
  • Bubble Bobble
  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.

  • Final Fantasy
  • Galaga
  • Ghosts ‘n Goblins
  • Gradius
  • Ice Climbers

The Nintendo NES Classic Edition is sure to become one of the most desired holiday gifts this season. With the release date coming just before the Christmas Shopping season, pre-orders will probably be the only way to obtain this console before  early to mid 2017. To stay up to date on news and when the Nintendo NES Classic is available for pre-order I would watch We are looking forward to brews, cigars, and lots of Mario at Cool Shit Guys Need.
